IBM Bob 2.0 Hackathon

Know what your change breaks before you merge.

codemap is a live map of your Git repo. Select a changed file and IBM Bob explains what changed, what downstream code may be affected, why, and which tests to run, grounded in real diffs, callers and dependencies.

The idea

Facts from codemap. Reasoning from Bob.

DETERMINISTIC

codemap gathers evidence

Scans the repo, detects Go calls and TypeScript imports, tracks diffs, and finds callers, dependencies and related tests.

IBM BOB

Bob explains it

Summary, affected areas, reasoning and tests to run, or a plain-English walkthrough of how selected files work together.

VERIFIABLE

Shown side by side

Bob's answer appears next to codemap's evidence, so developers can check it instead of trusting a guess.

See it in action. Analyze impact on a changed file, explain the flow of a selection, and instant cached re-checks.

Try it

Runs locally, inside any Git repo

codemap reads your repository from disk and calls IBM Bob Shell on your machine, so it runs where your code lives. There is no hosted version.

go install -tags webembed github.com/roshan-ican/codemap@latest
cd /path/to/your/project
codemap # opens http://127.0.0.1:7331

For the Bob features, install Bob Shell and sign in (or set BOB_API_KEY). Evidence of how Bob was used to build this is in bob_sessions/.
